Long Branch firefighters run 2nd alarm fire in Monmouth Beach

Engine 74 & Truck 91 responded mutual aid to the Borough of Monmouth Beach for a reported fire in an apartment complex. Upon arrival a working fire was confirmed and both engine and truck crews went to work on extinguishment. A full recall of off duty firefighters was activated which brought them directly to the scene. Firefighters from Monmouth Beach, Long Branch, Sea Bright, West Long Branch, Neptune, and Asbury Park worked for approximately two hours to contain the fire. Ultimately the fire made its way up into the second floor and cockloft where it was eventually contained and extinguished. There were no injuries reported and the fire is under investigation by the Monmouth Beach Fire Marshal.
