Second fire this week for Long Branch firefighters

The members of Tour #4 responded to Monmouth Beach on a working fire in a residential dwelling under construction. Crews had heavy fire showing from the rear of the dwelling upon arrival. The initial attack handline was placed into service by Truck 91, while Engine 74 established a sustained water supply. Members encountered heavy fire conditions in the basement and first floor of the dwelling as well as a collapse of the first floor. Firefighters from Monmouth Beach, Long Branch, Sea Bright, and Neptune (RIT) operated for approximately two hours. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Fire Marshal.
