At 0012hrs companies were dispatched to an address off Patten Avenue for a residential fire alarm. Truck 91 and Engine 74 arrived with nothing evident from the exterior of a two and a half story single family dwelling. With no access to the residence, firefighters performed a 360 of the building to check for signs of fire. While performing the 360, firefighters obtained a slight odor of wood burning on the side of the building. Access was eventually gained to the residence and revealed a working fire in the crawl space and subfloor of the residence. One handline was stretched and placed into operation as crews opened up the floor to access the fire. Companies operated for approximately one hour before the fire was placed under control. The fire is currently under investigation by the Fire Marshal.
